Our last home study visit was on December 15th. We saw the completed HS via email on December 16th (Our SW had it almost finished before the last meeting). It was then sent to our HS agency to be printed on letterhead, signed, notarized, and certified. We have not seen it since. We were told it would take 7 to 14 business days from when they received it to get it back to us complete. I know things often take longer than expected...but sometimes I just want to scream to all those involved "Don't you realize we have a beautiful boy just sitting in Ethiopia waiting for all this paperwork to get finished?"
We are so lucky to have gotten our referral so soon, I feel very blessed. But sometimes I think it might be easier if we were not matched yet. If we didn't have that beautiful face to look at every day (all day), knowing that each day that goes by with the next step not finished is another day he goes without his forever family. It is so hard that this part of the paper chasing is out of our hands. We have to rely on the timeliness of others. (I know.....major control issues!!). So, again I will tell myself that this will all happen in God's timing, not ours. But I know God doesn't want us to sit back and do nothing...otherwise He wouldn't have started us on this journey.
Shots Thursday went fine. FYI, the yellow fever shot stings a little going in, but doesn't hurt at all the next day.
