We've been packing for three days. And that's after having Lucas' things and one bag of donations already packed. My friend Laurie is bringing us medical donations tomorrow and to be honest I'm not sure where we are going to put them. We may have to take out some clothes and just wear the same thing all week. We each have two large suit cases to check, a carry on suit case and a carry on bag. I hope we can bring it all, according to the web site we can for only $100 extra. The hardest part was getting the documents ready. It wasn't hard, more time consuming. We had to download and print documents from USCIS, have some things signed in front of a notary, get copies of everything and check and double check to be sure we didn't forget anything.
I have felt sick for two days but I know it's only my nerves (thanks, Dad). I'll feel better once we get on the plane. I had hoped to get a bunch of meals frozen up before I left but that couldn't happen with the short notice. I'll be lucky if I am able to leave my friend Rhonda any sub plans (She is taking my place at school). I know she'll do a great job, my students are in great hands. I'm going to miss them all so very much. They have been through this entire process with us and they are so excited. I can't wait to introduce them to Lucas Digafu!!!
Please pray for safe travel, for paperwork to all be in place, for our children while we are away from them, and most of all for Lucas and for his transition into his new family to be smooth.
Thanks!!
