Hooray!! Last Day!! Up at 6-6:30ish - power is off again. Breakfast as usual and then packing. We did a quick visit over at HOLT then we all went to the Leprosy Hospital to visit the gift shop. We got some nice stuff (table cloths, scarfs, a bag, dress for Kara, leather items....). It was back to the hotel for lunch and more packing. Lunch took forever and I don't think I got what I ordered. We won't miss this place much. We ordered Digafu Injera because I doubt he'll every get it (like in Ethiopia) again.
Digafu got a short nap, we got him up around 3:45 and went to HOLT one last time. We got to see a picture of Digafu's birth father and say our good byes. Back to the Hotel to button up packing and say goodbye to the other families. And Good bye to Ethiopia..... :(
We left for the airport with our driver, Dawit. He is a true blessing to visiting families. Very helpful and a wealth of information about his culture. We will miss having him nearby to ask questions about Digafu's heritage. He is a wonderful man.

The flight was long. Lucas Digafu was real good except when he had to be strapped down. When his seat belt was on he screamed the entire time and I mean loud. After the first flight I asked Meghan and Stefan (who were sitting quite a ways away form us) if they heard him wailing and they sure did. After that the flight attendants understood if we didn't have him buckled the entire time.

On the flight Digafu tried ice cream for the first time. It was coffee flavored and he loved it (a true Ethiopian boy). Sine home we have given him vanilla and he didn't care for it much.
He slept some and had to be with Daddy the entire time. I'm glad since we've been home he's learned to like me. That first week was heart breaking, even though I knew from reading that he would bond with one of us first...I wanted it to be me. Oh well, he loves me now and that's all that matters.

Our family and friends met us at the airport and words could not describe how happy we were to be home.
Congratulations! It sounds like you had a great trip and are happy to be home. Are you getting all settled in now? Lucas is such a cutie.
