Language Development and more "Summer" fun

Lucas continues to amaze me with how fast he is picking up English. He is doing great with concrete vocabulary like car, flower, bike, cow.... Other concepts are more difficult so he uses them incorrectly such as "Digafu a good girl" or "Up stairs, mommy?" (when he means down stairs). His favorite phrases are "Digafu do it" and his newest "Look, Mommy". Yesterday for the very first time he was asked by a stranger what his name was and said "Lucas Digafu". We have been working so hard to transition him to his American name and I for one was beginning to give up hope as he always calls himself Digafu. It was so exciting to hear him refer to himself this way. We are fine with him being Digafu, but you would be surprised how many people can't say it. I'd hate for him to go through life correcting people all the time, but if that is what he chooses, it's fine with us. We will still legally change it to Lucas Digafu, but he can go by whichever he chooses.

We are having a cold and rainy summer in northern NY. We have dodged the rain enough to have all kinds of fun, however. Here are a few of the highlights:
