I think it's Psalm 25:25 that talks about Good News from afar. I'll have to go look it up when I get off the computer, but I wanted to share the good news we received today from our HOLT friends who just got back from Ethiopia.
Even though every picture we have says otherwise, Lucas CAN smile!!!! Sunshine and Brandon visited the care center in Durame and gave our little guy some love and attention. They say he is reserved, but DID smile with them while they were showering him with attention. As they arrived at the center the children all ran up and gathered around them....except Lucas who sat back and watched from afar (while eating a lollipop). I think he sounds like his Daddy already, quiet and reserved. They went on to say he has many friends there and is a very handsome boy. I wanted to ask them a million questions (and did email some) but realize they have probably told us all they can. They are home with twin toddler boys and I'm sure will be far too busy to email us every little detail of their time with Luke. We are just so grateful for the information they did share. It is amazing how much this little picture into his world means to us. I hope I am able to repay the favor to another family when we travel to get our son.
Thank you for your sweet comment on my blog and for your prayers. Even though I don't post on the Yahoo group a lot, that board has been such a source of encouragement! So glad that you were able to get a report like that on your little one. I'm praying for all the little ones in Holt's care.
ReplyDeleteThat's so neat that another family got in touch with Lucas while they were there. That's a cool thing your adoption agency does for you. I'm so glad your time frame has come down, and it seems like you should (fingers crossed), travel by the end of the Summer...right?, if not sooner?
ReplyDeleteI am so happy for you and Kara and your entire family. It is really nice knowing someone else-friends, that are going through this process. We wish you luck and for time to pass quickly so you are united with Lucas soon!!! You are in our prayers, and we so can't wait to meet him, and for you all to meet our Avery when we get her.
