Good news from afar....again

Our Holt friends Tracy & Mike just returned from Ethiopia with their sweet little girl. As many of you know, since the last families who have traveled we have found out quite a bit about our son and his health issues and have been very concerned for him. I just received an email from Tracy that has put my mind at ease. I will share part of it here:

Let me start by describing that I am sitting here with a big smile spread across my face. I hope that I can only give you a gift of comfort and peace in knowing that D**** is every bit the "normal" three year old boy.

Would you be surprised to know that he is one of the more active boys at the center? He is very outgoing , energetic, and anxious to be held. He loves to play and be read to. My son and my husband both remarked at how strong his throwing arm is (how young can you start tee-ball in your area??? tee hee). One time, when I was looking at a book with him, I was naming things in English and he was repeating the English word. I made a note to be sure I told you about that, as I was quite impressed!

I bet you are wondering about the shape of D*****'s head... None of us were taken-aback by the shape of his head. If you take a good look, you can tell there's something different, but it's not anything that makes you really stare, if you know what I mean. I questioned more in the picture you sent to me than in seeing him in "real life". I guess because when you see him in action, you know he's got it all together. And I am sure you have figured out that I little hair will cover the scars.

Mike's additions are that D***** is one of the quicker learners in the group, and that you should get ready for an energetic little boy!

Words can not express how at peace I am at this moment. Thank you Tracy and Mike.
We have two other HOLT friend families who just returned and I'm sure when they are rested I will hear even more from them about our son. Thank God for this wonderful group of friends and for this wonderful news!!!
